After two straight weeks of a lovely rain/snow/slush mixture falling from the sky, I was very excited to wake up to warm sunshine this weekend and even more excited photograph this little cutie in her Easter dress. Kind of makes me believe that spring really is right around the corner!

I love all babies, but six to nine months old is one of my very favorite ages to photograph. In addition to being super alert, quick to laugh and having fairly predictable schedules, babies this age are typically sitting up well but not yet crawling away which makes for lots of great photo opportunities.

We started with some shots of little Miss C in her Easter dress...

And then went a little more causal...


Eating the toes. A baby classic!



And I don't think daddy stands a chance against these baby blues.

I first meet this little one last February for her newborn session and this week had the pleasure of photographing her again for her first birthday. It is amazing just how fast a year goes by!

Since her birthday is actually on Valentines Day (talk about getting the perfect Valentine!), Mom had plenty of fun Valentin-y accessories on hand.



And finally, we had some fun with cake. This is a great way to keep a mobile one year old in one place and capture some priceless expressions. By the end I believe she was actually in the cake!

And just because she is so cute, and got left out of the cake thing completely, here is one of big sis.

And don't let that hat fool you, this little lady has one gorgeous head of newborn hair!


And pretty blue eyes too!


In typical three year old fashion (and I say this lovingly, as the mother of a three year old myself), big sis greeted me at the door with the announcement that she would not be having her picture taken.

However, while mom was feeding the baby she decided that she did in fact want to have her picture taken.

And in the end, even agreed to a few shots with the baby.

Okay, not really. But for anyone planning a spring session, spring most definitely is in the stores.

I am just loving all the yellow in Gymboree stores now and have built some outfit ideas for the kiddos around it. I think these colors will look amazing against the backdrop of lush green plants and vibrant flowers that will surround us in a few short months!

As always, for the boys I am falling back on the old polo and button down options. Sorry boys, I am just working with what the world of retail has to offer!
